HOOMSC - RideOK.org assists with your Basic Riders "L" Motorcycle Endorsement provided that the student successfully passes the written and practical application tests.
Students should bring plenty of water or Gatorade, snacks and a folding chair if you wish to sit during the breaks. You should also bring a good attitude towards yourself and others, life is stressful enough!

Have a parent or legal guardian accompany all minors to class on the first training day (morning) to fill out necessary paperwork and waivers for the student along with a copy of the Student's Birth Certificate. Upon the student's enrollment, we provide a liability waiver form that is required by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation prior to the start of class.
Yes, for BRC, you must compete the online MSF Basic e-Course and provide your certificate on the first day of class. The MSF Basic e-course must be taken within 30 days of course. You do not need to have any motorcycling experience; however, you should be able to ride a bicycle. You will need to have the ability to balance and stabilize a two-wheeled vehicle prior to beginning the class.
At this time our bikes for the BRC are several different makes and models, but all are 250cc's.
Classroom materials provided. You are encouraged to bring snacks for classroom breaks and range times. We take lunch breaks usually around 12:00 - 1pm. No lunch break is scheduled for the Experienced Rider Course. Range sessions are physically demanding. You will need to drink plenty of water prior to your class (year-round). You may also wish to bring sunscreen, rain gear, and extra clothing.
Class will be conducted regardless of the weather forecast. In the event of unsafe surface conditions (example: ice on the streets), we will notify you to reschedule the class, based on your contact information you provide us at the time of registration. Rain, heat, wind, and snow flurries are not causes for cancellation. We work around these types of conditions as best as possible keeping student safety top priority.
You should always dress for the Oklahoma weather and be prepared for changes throughout the day. Oklahoma weather can change without warning, so please pay special attention to the unbearable summer heat and extreme winter wind chills.
Private Lessons available for persons wishing to take a private course or smaller groups, who because of their schedule cannot attend a regularly scheduled course. The one-on-one instruction is the same class curriculum and range activities that are presented in the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's Basic RiderCourse.

The Basic Rider Course is designed to allow the majority of riders to develop the essential road riding skills within the standard course structure. Not everyone will be successful on his or her first attempt. There is a separate fee associated with a retest if the student fails on first attempt.
If you should fail one of the tests, written or riding, you have several options available to you. We can discuss options with you as if this problem arises. It is mandatory that the class is passed in order to receive a certificate of completion.
Students who cannot meet the minimum standards of the basic skills required to proceed in the class or students who become a danger to themselves, or their classmates are not allowed to continue the training program.
Spaces in the classes are limited. If you do not attend or if you show up more than 15 minutes late, and do not provide us with at least four (4) business days' notice - you will forfeit your class fee. Once you have signed up and paid for training, it is not refundable unless HOOMSC must cancel a class and is unable to move you to another class.

If you are unable to take a course that you sign up for, you must provide us with at least four (4) business days' notice you will forfeit your course fee. Courses go on rain or shine. There are no refunds for student cancellation. If it is necessary for HOOMSC to cancel a class, students will be given a chance to change to another class date.
If a class does not fill, HOOMSC - RideOK.org reserves the right to cancel that class and contact the enrolled students and schedule them for an alternate class date.
