THE BASIC RIDERCOURSE (BRC)

Our goal is to provide you with a safe and enjoyable training experience.

The Basic RiderCourse is intended for those with little or no experience, or for any rider who has missed the opportunity to take formal motorcycle rider education. This hands-on, learner-centered, step-by-step course teaches everything from the ground up.

MSF-certified instructors teach in our climate-controlled classroom and coach on our dedicated coned off range. Four hours of classroom instruction includes risk awareness, protective gear, motorcycle controls, riding skills, and street strategies. Outdoor range exercises are conducted on our training motorcycles (all 250cc or smaller) in a controlled environment, where students get hands-on experience and personal, professional coaching. Students meeting evaluation standards receive a completion card, waiving the on-cycle skill test required by the state for a motorcycle endorsement.

Step one:  Select your desired Basic Rider Course from "Available Courses" and use the PayPal button for your transaction.  Answer all questions on the document and have your driver's license available.

Step two:  Read the below and begin the online basic e-Course RiderCourse which can be found at http://www.msf-usa.org/eCourse.aspx

MANDATORY ONLINE BASIC E-COURSE REQUIRED FOR BASIC RIDERCOURSE (BRC) STUDENTS

The Basic RiderCourse has been updated and now requires an online e-Course to be completed prior to attending the BRC. To register for the e-Course, please go to the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) website located at http://www.msf-usa.org/eCourse.aspx and choose Enroll Now. (This is a requirement for MSF and the state of Oklahoma in order to attend this course.)

  1. The basic e-Course will take approximately 3-5 hours from start to finish. Please complete the e-Course NO EARIER THAN 4-5 days PRIOR TO YOUR scheduled course date.  The basic e-Course will expire 30 days after you complete it - so plan your e-Course date.  If you need to stop and continue the course at a later time, you can return to the MSF website and choose Returning Students to login.

After completing the basic e-Course, you will need to print out your certificate and MUST bring the completion certificate to class in order to be able to continue. If you do not present your proof of completion at class, you will not be allowed to continue and there will be no refund for the cost of the course. If you do not have access to a computer or the internet, please check with your local library.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO -

After you've selected your BRC class date and have completed registration....

You will need to complete the online Basic E-course less than 30 days prior to day 1 of your class start date.   This online course takes anywhere from 3 to 5 hours to complete and will generate a completion certificate that is required for BRC.

The online Basic E-course can be found at https://msf-usa.org/basic-ecourse/ and the cost is $19.99.  This is a Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) online motorcycle course is made available separately to learn about motorcycle controls, rules of the road before you arrive on day 1.  The cost of the online Basic E-course is separate from your registration fee for Basic Riders Course.

You will be asked for a copy of your completion certificate on day 1 of BRC.  Best recommendation:  Complete the online Basic E-course 5 days prior to your start class date of your Basic Riders Course because E-course credentials are ONLY valid for 30 days from the date of completion.

Prior to Day 1

Once you complete your online training (Basic E-course) please verify that you have all the necessary equipment to attend the training and feel free to call and ask if you have any last-minute questions/concerns.  Gloves, over the ankle boots, protective eyewear, traditional full, 3/4 helmet, long sleeve shirt, long pants or jeans (no holes) and a positive mental attitude about learning to ride is what you'll need to bring with you.

Balance is a skill that cannot be taught in a classroom setting.  It's an ability one must possess inherently.  If you haven't cycled in a while, it's highly recommended to spend some time biking before attempting to ride a motorcycle.

Day 1 of BRC

The Basic Riders Course (BRC) offers professional motorcycle training for individuals looking to enhance their riding skills and safety knowledge.  Please arrive 10-15 minutes early on day one to fill out your administrative paperwork.  There are 14 exercises that will be demonstrated and then student executed via practical application throughout this two-day course.  The schedule is similar to 0730-1130 classroom/range work, 1130-1230 lunch on your own, 1230-5pm classroom/range work/end of day.

Day 2 of BRC

There is a practical application of skills test and a written test on this day.  Your safety is our top priority. That's why all our instructors are screened, and MSF qualified to ensure your safety and security while attending BRC.  At the end of this day, a certificate of completion along with your BRC credentials will be presented.
